The Objectives of Water For Life are as follows:

HRO Nepal has taken an initiative to help people gain access to clean water for daily consumption as well as irrigation purposes through construction and rehabilitation of water supply schemes at major places. Under this scheme, we plan to:

• Discover water sources to remove shortage or absence of water sources
• Improve access to clean drinking water for all
• Prevent water-borne diseases through effective measures
• Raise awareness about sanitation and hygiene practices
• Construct proper sanitation amenities for all

So far, HRO Nepal has conducted water for life and water sanitation and hygiene programs for all by improving access to clean drinking water for almost half a million people between 2010 and 2016.

We have worked hard to improves access to clean drinking water through installation of hand pumps, water filtration plants, construction of tube-wells, water wells, water storage tanks, and water supply schemes to meet the basic and livelihood needs.

Moreover, we understand the relation of water shortage and water-borne diseases owing to the limited reserves and improper hygiene conditions. We have therefore taken measures to improve access to safe drinking water and create cleaner habitation and environment for all. We have also distributed hygiene kits in areas of natural disasters, such as floods and earthquakes, to combat the spread of water-borne diseases. These kits include washing and bath soap, teeth cleaning sticks (miswak), towels, razors, combs, nail cutters, cotton rolls, aqua tablets, and ORS and SODIS bottles.
